I have lived in Bangalore for about 21 years now i suppose, and a lot has changed since then. There has been a drastic change everywhere. It was i think the IT boom which transformed a slow paced, casual city like Bangalore to become one of the busiest places.Being born and brought up in Bangalore has its numerous benefits and i'm very happy to enjoy many of them. But frankly speaking i for one am bored of this place, yes many of you may argue that i have never been to the most 'happening' places in Bangalore, but for me those places do not bring any form of joy, just more boredom.

Another fact about being from an urban settlement is we are unaware of the life of those who live on the outskirts. There is a mental picture that the rest of the India lives a life which is more or less close to what we see in an urban lifestyle. This attitude must be changed!!There is a lot we lose in life thanks to the advanced technology.

I have always enjoyed the peace and serenity of nature. Going to forests on a regular basis has always rejuvenated me.Even after all this there seems to be a void in me. A thirst for more raw-ness in life. Few of the recent activities i was engaged in have brought about a sense of realization about this void in me.

Books like 'The motorcycle diaries' and documentary like 'nero's guests' have brought into me an energy to travel. Travel not just to see and enjoy nature, but to also live at-least a part of the rural life, maybe just an hour of that kind of life is worth it!!

P.S: I hope to travel into the villages around Bangalore to know and feel how our lives effect those in the rural areas.these were the thoughts running in my head for a few days now, and have captured them here. hopefully this is not a passing phase.this post here is to always remind me and keep me inspired.
